01 / LAYER

A sample’s texture.
A synth’s possibilities.

Put the attack of a recorded sound over a wide wavetable body. Add a low foundation and a moving top layer. Each of Apex’s four layers can be a wavetable oscillator or a sample instrument.

Import WAV and SF2 sounds, edit sample loops and shape each layer with its own filter. Keyboard splits let a bass and lead share one preset.

02 / COMPOSE

Let each layer
find its rhythm.

Hold a chord while one layer plays a bass sequence, another adds an arpeggio and a third follows your keyboard. Choose Follow Main, Live Input or an Own Pattern for each layer.

Draw melodies in the piano roll, import or export MIDI, and use scale snapping, swing and ghost notes to develop the phrase. The Chords page turns a played key into an editable voicing.

The Wavetable Designer combines up to eight Wave, drawn Line or imported wavetable sources. Give sources and modifiers their own keyframes, then scan through the result with WT Position.

Draw curves, edit harmonics and stack modifiers such as Wavefold, Sine Fold, Spectral Tilt, Sync and Crush. Save the editable table or export a wavetable WAV.

Give a lead its own delay and reverb chain while the bass stays focused. Put rhythmic processing on another bus, then bring the bus returns together through Master FX.

A VST3-compatible host is required.

*The standalone app and Audio Unit are included in the Mac version.

Can I create my own sounds?

Yes. Start from a factory preset or build from an initial sound. Combine wavetable and sample layers, add modulation and effects, then save your own presets.

Does Apex include a sound library?

Yes. The full instrument includes factory presets and its sample library. The browser helps you find sounds by category and keep track of your favourites.

When can I buy Apex?
